The London Skills and Development Network (LSDN) was named the Distinguished Provider of Adult Education at a recent awards ceremony. The award, which recognises organisations demonstrating a commitment to learners, tutors, and their communities, was presented to LSDN Executive Director Virginie Ramond.

LSDN is a non-profit organisation that helps individuals facing challenges to re-engage with society and find employment. They work with groups who often have limited access to mainstream education, such as ex-offenders, survivors of domestic violence, and those who have experienced modern slavery.

The organisation focuses on providing a holistic and supportive learning environment, going beyond traditional education to address the individual needs of each learner. This includes offering practical support like healthy meals and career guidance. One former student praised LSDN’s supportive environment, saying it provided a safe space to learn and explore career options. They also highlighted the organisation’s commitment to building lasting relationships with learners, offering ongoing support even after they complete their courses Another individual, who feels that LSDN is a deserving recipient of the award, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to providing holistic support that addresses the individual needs of each learner.

The award is a testament to LSDN’s dedication to empowering individuals and communities through education. The organisation’s work in providing accessible and supportive learning opportunities is making a real difference in the lives of Londoners.
